The manifesto
Principles
We believe the world under-celebrates the people who solve its hardest problems —
and abandons their work when they leave.
Banyan exists to fix both.
We recognize ventures, not heroes.
We record contribution, not hype.
We measure persistence, because staying is the hardest thing.
And we are building toward a world where a social venture can outlive any single founder —
passed on like a baton, not buried with its maker.
- Ventures over heroes
- The atomic unit is the venture, not the founder. Cards, links and search results are venture-first. Founders appear as stewards. There are no follower counts, no likes, and no rankings of people — ever.
- Structured claims, not stories
- Impact is recorded as problem, intervention, outcome and evidence. A short mission statement is the only narrative we ask for.
- Persistence is the first metric
- Years at the problem sits at the top of every profile. It is the one thing that cannot be faked or hyped.
- Credibility is progressive, not gatekept
- Anyone can list in minutes. Evidence, attestations and verified registration raise credibility over time. We never block entry; we always reward evidence.
- Contribution is recorded
- Every meaningful act — a profile created, a claim attested, a listing fulfilled — is written to a permanent ledger.
- Free forever for founders
- No paywalls, no premium tiers, no ads.
